Our Ministries and Beliefs

The GCI Statement of Beliefs

Christians are exhorted to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). The Spirit of God leads the church into all truth (John 16:13). Accordingly, the following statement of beliefs is not a closed creed. GCI constantly renews its commitment to truth and deeper understanding and seeks to respond to God's guidance in its beliefs and practices.

Summary of Our Christian Faith

  • There is one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • God the Father made all things through the Son, sent the Son for our salvation, and gives us the Holy Spirit.

  • The Son of God, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, was born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully human, and is the perfect revelation of the Father and the perfect representative of humanity. He suffered and died on the cross for all human sin, was raised bodily on the third day, and ascended to heaven. Standing in for all humanity before the Father, Jesus Christ provides the perfect human response to God. Since he died for all, all died in him, and all will be made alive in him.

  • The Holy Spirit brings sinners to repentance and faith, assures believers of their forgiveness and acceptance as God’s dearly loved children, and works in them to conform them to the image of Jesus Christ.

  • The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God that testifies to Jesus Christ. The Bible is fully authoritative for all matters of faith and salvation.

  • Salvation comes only by God’s grace and not by works, and it is experienced through faith in Jesus Christ. Christians respond to the joy of salvation when they gather in regular fellowship and live godly lives in Jesus Christ.

  • We look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry of LHCF is a place where young people can come and ask questions regarding matters of faith and life in a safe and secure environment.

Our staff works with the young people God brings to us, in a loving God-inspired environment. We don’t think we have all the answers but we know God will supply what we need in due season.

We have many activities, such as Friday Night Live (FNL). FNL is a time of bible study and fellowship where we have interactive lessons with the young people. We have begun a public speaking class at FNL and we encourage our young people to enhance their public speaking skills.

We are also the chief sponsors of The Mountaintop Camp that is held each year. It’s a weekend camp that caters to families and encourages a dialogue with kids and other spiritual leaders.

Children Ministry (our little lambs)

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me.” (Luke 18:16-17).

The Children’s Ministry is a growing and vibrant ministry for children between the ages of four through ten. Bible lessons are used to consistently teach and introduce the children to God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Other activities include, the Angels, a children’s choir, Easter, Christmas performances to name a few. If you have a passion for teaching children about God and his kingdom, we would love to have you as part of the ministry.

Music, Music, Music

The Music Ministry is a vibrant part of church life at Living Hope.

It serves to uplift, inspire, and remind the congregation of God’s love, grace, and faithfulness through songs of Praise and Worship. The Music Ministry is currently made up of a number of groups that covers virtually all ages. We have a little children’s group, a pre-teen/early teen ensemble referred to as the Angels, a Youth Choir, and our adult choir known as The Atlanta Faith Singers choir which regularly sings on the 1st Sunday of each month. In addition, we also have the weekly Praise Team known as Vessels of Praise, and the church’s Praise Band.
